Matthew Crawford has written a book about what we have lost by ceasing to work with our hands – and how we can get it back. Crawford questions the imperative of turning everyone into a knowledge worker. Returning to the practice of a ‘craft’, the melding of hands and heart, also means the work cannot be outsourced or made obsolete. A worthwhile read!
